Since 2007, Ayiera Initiative (AI) has been working to improve the living conditions of disadvantaged children and youth in Korogocho slum, strengthening and integrating them socially and economically into the community.
Our intervention is three-fold;
We give children, adolescents and youths confidence to realise their abilities and practising their talents, by enabling them to increase control
We encourage and promote education of children and young people, by creating avenues to support and promote education at home and in school
We engage our community in identifying prevailing issues, and come up with practical and attainable solutions together through social events
we achieve this by offering children and youths possibilities to explore and develop themselves, in order to prevent them from engaging in self distracting behaviours which have negative impacts to themselves and the larger community.
